Talamdan is a generic term meaning “guiding principle” or a sign that influences action or decision. It is akin to the word batasan (customary law) for it portends danger or good fortune. It is an apt description for Mt. Kitanglad for it is a living symbol of life and culture. The current status of the mountain range reveals two contrasting realities: a glint of hope and a catastrophe. Still, KIN keeps an optimistic vision of this mysterious mountain range.

Mt. Kitanglad is the talamdan. It is the inspiration in the pursuit of this social mission – whether meant for people’s rights or environmental advocacy.
